Where you're planning out a job, think to yourself "I must remember to do X before I do Y, or it's gonna be ugly", then when it comes to actually doing the job, forget to do X first?
Now I've got to extract a broken off rollpin from my axle because I tried to press a trailing arm bush out without removing it first. Yay me! Idiot.

The handle's actually Latin for "I broke it". Which works here, too....

Happens to all of us. I once drove ten miles with a steering wheel that wouldn't stay put after I forgot to reinstall the tilt bearing preload/lock plate spring in my Jeep's column. It was late and I'd been up thirty-some hours so I just wanted to get home and sleep. Dealt with it the next morning.
